  • Many counselors expect to reach burnout at some point in their careers. Prevalence rates in the community have been estimated to be up to 67%.

  • The work that counselors and health professionals do makes them particularly susceptible to high levels of stress and burnout.

  • Living with any level of burnout can be detrimental to an individual's physical and mental health, and these effects can spread to other areas of their life, likely decreasing overall wellness and life satisfaction.

  • Despite the awareness around the prevalence of burnout in the counselor community, there are few resources designed to target the issue.
